Come on October!! I’m finding myself looking more forward to the new season of AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN than I am for THE WALKING DEAD. And now at least the wait is over for finding out when we will be able to see it. We knew before that it would start airing in October, but a more exact date has been released. The third season of AMERICAN HORROR STORY will premier on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at 10 p.m on FX. This season of the insanely dark and twisted series will have 13 episodes and will focus on witches and witchcraft in New Orleans.
Returning for Season 3 are Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy, Taissa Farmiga, Denis O’Hare and Alexandra Breckenridge. Farmiga, Breckenridge and O’Hare all had roles in the first season of ‘American Horror Story’ but did not appear in the second season, ‘American Horror Story: Asylum.’
New additions to the Season 3 cast include Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Gabourey Sidibe, Patti LuPone and Emma Roberts.
This season takes place over 300 years after the Salem witch trials, but now we can get a taste of the official plot crunch:
Over 300 years have passed since the turbulent days of the Salem witch trials and those who managed to escape are now facing extinction. Mysterious attacks have been escalating against their kind and young girls are being sent away to a special school in New Orleans to protect themselves. Wrapped up in turmoil is Zoe, who is harboring a terrifying secret of her own. Alarmed by the recent aggression, Fiona, the long-absent Supreme, sweeps back into town, determined to protect the Coven and hell-bent on decimating anyone who gets in her way.
